About Us

The Guisborough Theatre Club has now performed over seventy productions since its foundation in 1971, embracing authors as diverse as Shakespeare and Sue Townsend and plays ranging from ‘Toad of Toad Hall’ to ‘Hedda Gabler’.

There are normally two major productions each year, in the spring and autumn, usually at St. Nicholas Church Hall, but the Club also takes part in other events, such as fundraising, variety shows and rehearsed readings at the hall and at other venues.

We are always looking for new talent, but you don’t have to act to be a member. Many and diverse contributions help make a performance a success – set, props, costume, sound, lighting, make-up, publicity and front-of-house. Or maybe you think you could direct a play. Whatever your skills, we can use you!

Please see the Future Events page for information about forthcoming productions and other events.

Please note that pantomimes performed at the St. Nicholas Church Hall are produced by the Guisborough Pantomime Group, although numerous members belong to both groups.
